ISC Wind Advisory
IowaStormCenter.com has issued a WIND ADVISORY for areas shaded above.
Date: 10/11/22 at 5:50pm Central
Timing: Effective Wednesday afternoon through Wednesday evening….
Discussion: Strong winds above mixing down to the surface will give a good portion of the state northwest winds sustained 15-30 MPH with gusts 35-50 MPH. Areas to the east of the advisory will still see brief strong gusts in the afternoon but not enough to warrant the alert product. Low relative humidity will make conditions favorable for fire concerns, especially in western Iowa. In addition, light sprinkles/sporadic showers will be possible in the afternoon from north to northeast Iowa. The strong winds will subside later Wednesday night.
10 mile rule: These alerts issued on this site means that within your zone and 10 miles from you will see the event forecast for. You may or may not see the event but it means you are in the zone or 10 miles from where someone will.
