The second storm system will move through on Sunday with primarily rain and gusty winds so read on for the details…
Our second system which is a series of 2 this weekend will pass through on Sunday. Rain should develop across central Iowa by late Sunday morning and push east. The backside of the system will slide across the Iowa/Minnesota border where some rain/snow mix and brief gusty winds near advisory criteria will be possible Sunday night. The system will exit the state by early Monday morning. Rain amounts overall will be light with an area across northeast Iowa of 0.25-0.50″. If snow can accumulate, I wouldn’t rule out a quick trace-1″ on grass and elevated surfaces especially near the border in north central and northeast Iowa. The forecast radar/rain model is below and like I mentioned yesterday I am watching for an additional system April 5-7th which I will discuss more on this later.
