A storm system may bring rain, snow and gusty winds to the state late this week so read on for the details…

A low pressure system is planned to move across the central plains later this week bringing rain to the state Wednesday into Thursday. Then cold air will filter in Thursday night into Friday on the backside of the system providing the potential for precipitation to be in the form of snow. As of right now any snow accumulation will be minimal. In addition to the precipitation, we will have a strong northwesterly wind Thursday into Friday. The forecast grids here at the office pinpoint wind gusts to be toward wind advisory criteria. Snow showers may linger Friday night across some of the state before the system would move east.
