Areas of fog and drizzle should continue this morning until showers and thunderstorms develop. Then we should see widespread shower and thunderstorm activity through the morning. A dry slot will develop this afternoon across central to southern Iowa to aid in the possibility of severe storms later this evening. Main threats are hail, damaging winds and a isolated tornado. Around the evening time frame a cold front will be passing through northwest Iowa changing all rain over to snow along with strong wind gusts of 30-40 MPH likely behind the front. Snow accumulations will be generally a trace-2″ with potential for locally higher amounts into interior northwest Iowa.
