Scattered snow showers Tuesday…tracking snow potential late week.

We are still on track for a chance of snow early this week but things will continue to stay active so read on for the details…

As I mentioned last Thursday, we would see a pattern change this week with the ridge breaking down and this in return would open up a window for storm opportunities. The first event will hit Tuesday with primarily some light snow showers/flurries and breezy winds. This event will lack some moisture due to dry air so not anticipating much out of this. The second system I am watching will fall toward the end of the week on December 10th/11th and this one needs to be watched closely. Some solutions want to predict a deepened trough which could mean trouble for the southern states in terms of severe weather and this would likely bring a stripe of snow to the central plains as well. My models here at the office also show a similar situation. Since we are about 5 days out from the event, that is about as much detail as I can give right now so consider this a heads up if you have plans on those dates. Additional updates will follow later in the week as we get closer to the event. Stay tuned to official forecasts from Iowa Storm Center.
