(IowaStormCenter.com) — The official October 2024 weather forecast is in at Iowa Storm Center with a similar look to September.
The forecast for September verified well with two storm systems through the entire month while fairing below average with precipitation and above average on temperatures. A similar take is in store as we kick off the month of October.
Above average temperatures and below average precipitation will continue to be the theme through the latter half of October with multiple cold fronts that will slide through Iowa.
A couple notable systems will hit toward the middle to latter half of the month and the potential is there for an uptick in severe weather, should enough gulf moisture become established.
The 2024-2025 winter forecast will follow later this month favoring a moderate La Nina.
