Iowa Update: Latest on Easter Sunday snow and strong winds.

We will continue to see scattered rain showers work east today. By Sunday morning the main wave of snow will begin to work through the state with a deformation zone across northwest Iowa where 0.5-1.5″ per hour snowfall rates are expected. I would even leave the chance for broken branches and scattered power outages due to the heavy snow. During snowfall we will see a strong north/northeasterly wind with gusts 30-50 MPH leading to greatly reduced visibility. Snow will end across western Iowa by later Sunday night and ending across eastern Iowa by early Monday morning.
