Good Friday morning! Our main storm system continues to press east this morning with rain showers across eastern Iowa and snow showers across northwest Iowa. We should see this activity come to an end toward the noon hour. The 24 hour rainfall amounts below show an area in northeast Iowa where as much as 3-5″ of rain was recorded overnight. Now we move on to round 2 that will arrive later Saturday night. This one however will bring accumulating snow to the northern section of the state, especially NW Iowa. The probability for 3″+ of snow stretches from Colorado through Nebraska and up into northwest/north central Iowa. We will continue to keep a close eye on this through the day. Our snowfall forecast will be issued Saturday.
