A storm system will slide across the central and southern plains on Thursday that will bring a quick hitting of snow to the state. Snow will start to increase by Thursday morning and end by late Thursday night/early Friday morning. Snowfall accumulations will be light to moderate with the highest accumulation across the eastern half of Iowa.

Temperatures will continue cold the next few days but milder temperatures will hit by the weekend and into next week.
