An area of scattered showers will continue to slowly work east through the day today with high temperatures in the 70s and 80s. We will watch for another round of showers and thunderstorms to work into the state early Saturday morning.
Now depending on how fast the activity can exit Saturday morning will determine the severe criteria Saturday afternoon/evening and how well the atmosphere can recover. The early thinking is storm development between 6-9 PM with main threats of hail, damaging winds and heavy rainfall.
A second round of severe weather will follow Sunday afternoon/evening primarily from central to southeast Iowa with main threats being the same as Saturday.
