Iowa Forecast: Latest on snow across southeast today…windy Friday.

The first wave of precipitation moved through the southeast part of the state last evening and now the second round from this storm system will hit extreme southeast Iowa later today. The windy conditions are expected to continue through much of today with gusts 25-35 MPH. Snowfall accumulations will be on the order of a trace-2″ across the southeast part of the state with an area of 2-4″ of snow accumulation across extreme southeast Iowa. The system will pull to the east later this evening. Then a cold front will sweep through the state on Friday providing another round of gusty winds and even some rain/snow showers towards Friday evening.
