Good Wednesday morning! Our winter storm that impacted the state yesterday dropped a range of snowfall totals from 1.5″ of snow reported in Storm Lake to 9″ in the Des Moines area for example. Here at the office in northwest Iowa, we had 3.5″ of snow. As we move along into today we will see partly sunny skies with high temperatures in the 20s statewide with a northwest wind 10-20 MPH and gusts 25-35 MPH. We will watch for fog to develop across southwest Iowa overnight tonight into Thursday AM. It is possible that this can branch to the north into some of northwest Iowa Thursday morning before dissipating. Winter storm watches are already being hoisted across Kansas and Missouri ahead of our next winter storm which is expected to impact the eastern half of Iowa on Friday with light to moderate snow accumulations and ice accumulation.
