Iowa Storm Center issues frost advisory ahead of expected colder temperatures Tuesday night…
The first frost of the season will be in the cards Tuesday night. We will see the wind relax later Tuesday night into early Wednesday morning with clear skies as a ridge of high pressure ushers in colder air then what has been seen so far for the season. The dynamics for frost are lined up across the northeast half of Iowa where low temperatures will drop into the low/middle 30s Tuesday night as seen on the ISC frost/freeze model below. For that, I have issued a Frost Advisory that will go into effect later Tuesday night through Wednesday morning. This includes portions of central/west central/southeast, all of northwest/north central/northeast/east central Iowa. Cover any sensitive vegetation outdoors. Remember, frost advisories are only issued during the growing season.
10 mile rule: These alerts issued on this site means that within your zone and 10 miles from you will see the event forecast for. You may or may not see the event but it means you are in the zone or 10 miles from where someone will.
