(IowaStormCenter.com) — Active pattern developing late this month extending into early May with multiple rounds of showers and storms.
A northwest flow will persist through the early part of this week ahead of a return to the southwest flow with a storm system anticipated on Thursday, April 17th.
While some severe risk may coincide near the front Thursday evening, confidence is not high enough right now to highlight any specific area and will need further monitoring.
More importantly, we are watching for a major uptick in storm systems including severe weather risks late April through the first week of May.
The focus zone of severe weather within this pattern will extend over the central to southern plains with some of these threats expanding northward into the central/upper Midwest.
