ISC Flood Watch
IowaStormCenter.com has issued a FLOOD WATCH for all of Iowa.
Date: 3/17/20 at 10:20am CT
Timing: Effective Thursday through Friday….
Discussion: A strong storm system will impact Iowa between Thursday and Friday. This area does look to have the most lift to trigger heavy rains on Thursday. Preliminary rainfall amounts will be in the 1-2″ range across the watch area. Enough instability may be available to allow for a few storms to have some hail and gusty winds with them later Thursday afternoon. Then strong wind gusts over 30+ MPH will impact the watch area on Friday. A flood watch means that conditions are favorable for flooding with heavy rainfall in a short period of time.
10 mile rule: These alerts issued on this site means that within your zone and 10 miles from you will see the event forecast for. You may or may not see the event but it means you are in the zone or 10 miles from where someone will.
