Christmas Day Forecast + Tracking Cold With Snow Chances Next Week.

We have been less active since our severe weather event last Wednesday but things are about to change so read on for the details…

A week ago I mentioned that changes could take place around or after Christmas and we are still on track for that. The first storm system will swing through Christmas day although I don’t expect much impact from this since this will be a very broken up event with some light rain possible from central to southern Iowa Christmas day morning and then later in the afternoon some snow will be possible to the north of us across Minnesota. So for those that wanted a white Christmas, sorry but not this year. That being said I am watching a second storm system to move through later in the weekend. This one can bring some light snow Sunday afternoon/evening. Another storm system may follow on Tuesday with additional snow chances and wintry mix also in the equation. Additional updates to follow later. Merry Christmas from Iowa Storm Center!
